Sponsored Marie Curie 100 mile Tandem Ride
Sponsored Marie Curie 100 mile Tandem Ride – Sunday 13th July 2008
Start – JD Cycles, Nelson Road, Ilkley, LS29 8HN, 01943 816101
Time – 8.30 to 9.30 am, slower riders off first, faster riders later
Distance – 100 miles
Entry fee – Minimum donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care of £20 per team.
Route – Ilkley, Pool in Wharfedale, Dunkeswick, Sicklinghall, Wetherby, York then Selby via the old railway path and return by the same route back to Ilkley.
The ride will be fully supported, and the support vehicle, the JD Cycles van, will bring up the rear of the ride, which means the faster riders will be un-supported unless they wait for the van. Water, energy drinks and bars will be available in the van.
The first part of the route is flat out to Pool and then follows rolling terrain to Wetherby, then gentle terrain out to York, and then completely flat out to Selby.
