This will probably sound cheesy and like I’m being paid to do this (I’m not), but I just felt I had to post to say a BIG BIG thanks to JD Cycles for helping us out recently.

We’ve had a few ‘problems’ with bust freehubs and the like.  We were more than greatful when they agreed to replace the freehub body for the third time, free of charge.  Unfortunately, we experienced problems with it on the first ride - bust it again downer

I shouldn’t probably say this, but we were expecting the cold shoulder contacting them again, and we certainly wouldn’t have blamed them.  They’ve done all they’re expected to do and more, and the machine is now out of warranty.  We’d planned a good long ride this Sunday, so were a bit down, but were over the moon when they said they’d send us a spare rear wheel, and after calling distributors etc, have agreed to change the hub on our existing wheel for the extra cost of the parts.  I’ll reiterate, they were certainly under no obligation to do this for us.

Needless to say the wheel arrived on time.  We were a bit perplexed to see it was a 16 spoke! Shimano something-or-other, but I have to admit it seemed more than up to the job (and looks superb!).  We steered clear of any really steep stuff, but did an enjoyable 97 miles on it today through Coniston, Grasmere, St Johns in the Vale, around Derwentwater and back.  Not a hint of a problem.

Without doubt, the best bike shop we’ve ever had dealings with.  Now if only we can find something wrong with the frame and get it swapped for a Santana Beyond wink (only joking fellas).

Allan (& Konrad).
