9 speed cassette advice

We’re in the market for a new 9 speed cassette.  Up to now we’ve used Shimano XT (an 11/34 M760 and a 12/34 M750).  I’m not a Shimano person - Campag for me wink but wondered what the merits were of the various Shimano cassettes.  Obviously, there’s a serious load on a tandem and I was just wondering if the cheaper LX or DEORE (heavier) cassettes might last a bit longer than the XT with all its drilled out bits to save a gram or two?
The last XT cassette we used, the alloy carrier (holds the 6 largest sprockets) bent, so I’m just wary that it maybe can’t take the strain we’re putting on it.  But maybe we were unlucky?

Be interested to hear any advice anyone might have.

Cheeers… Allan.

Hi Allan

I am sorry but our view is the XT is the best, John says it puts less stress on the free hub body, because of the alloy carrier Bear in mind you have a very fit rear rider.
