It’s the time of year when cyclists begin to plan for next years rides and tours.  One of the trips we plan is to Holland.  I’ve been to Holland several times with a group of friends on solos but this time it’s going to be a tandem trip.  On each of the previous occasions we have stayed in the area of Castricum in the Noord Holland region - the cyling, scenery and the facilities are excellent.  Has anyone any experience of any different areas, bearing in mind that we will be cycling from home to the ferry terminal at North Shields and arriving at Ijmuden.  We will cycle from there to wherever our first night is and would want to keep the journey to a max of 35-40 miles.  Can anyone recommend any booking agencies or sites for b and bs?

By the way, if anyone fancies a trip abroad, I cannot recommend Holland enough.  It’s unbelievable when you approach a roundabout and 40 ton artics stop to give way to cyclists!!! - plus the system of cycle routes is better than anything in the UK, and it’s flat!

If you email the tandem club in Holland they say they will reply to any emails in English, I bet they’d be a great resource to get some information from.
