A bit tardy getting around to this but better late than never.Last week we rented a cottage in Halesworth in Suffolk and took the tandem with us.

Wow,what a place for cycling/tandeming.Quiet country lanes, stunning scenery ( yes the near constant sunshine helped of course ) and the quaintest buildings and cottages you could wish to find.

We had trips out to Walberswick,Southwold,Beccles,Bungay and the most fascinating of all to Dunwich which in the 11th/12th centuries was one of the largest ports in the country with eighteen churches, three hospitals and a big population reduced by coastal erosion to a village street and a beach cafe today.Incidentaly the cafe is supposed to boast the best fish & chips for miles around. Can’t vouch for that but they aren’t bad.

The Landescape performed faultlessly and I think we are definately moving up the “proficient at tandeming” scale. We got quite cocky eventually and even tried honking without falling off.We put in just over 100 miles for the week, which is not much compared to some of you more epic tandemers I am sure but since it turned out, after a visit to the local quack, that Liz The Stoker was suffering from quinsy ( a very severe abscess of the throat ) she did very well.

If anyone is interested in renting a very pleasant cottage with plenty of space for tandem storage then drop me an e-mail and I will send you the URL.I hasten to add that it is nothing at all to do with me personally we just had such a good week it might be worth passing on.
