It appears to have been a bit quiet on here of late so here is a short ride report to bore you all to death.

We had a ride today from Howden to Pocklington and back to Howden and on the way found a couple of eating stops that are worth a mention for anyone out and about in this area.

The first was at Allerthorpe Park Leisure Centre ( I think that is what they called it ) which was on the road from Melbourne to Allerthorpe,SW of Pocklington.I can’t give an exact location as it is not shown on my OS sheet, suffice to say it is on the right hand side travelling towards Pocklington. It is a boating, kayaking centre with a cafe, spotlessly clean, with showers should you need them, very friendly and dogs welcome should you have one.

The second was the Heike’s Imbiss Cafe & Tearoom in Pocklington.Strange name but they sell German and English food, simple fare but reasonably priced and quickly served.

All in all a very good tandeming day.For anyone who has not been to Howden, that is an interesting place with Howden Minster worth a look round.I didn’t know Howden even had a Minster.

We also added to our learning curve of tandeming, namely that when attempting to cross a major road it is not conducive to a long and healthy life for the Captain to say “no” and the Stoker to say “yes” and then both change their minds.
