Border City Wheelers present the first of what we hope will be an annual event – a 105 mile ride starting and finishing in the Market town of Brampton (9 miles east of Carlisle) and taking in some of the most breathtaking North Cumbria countryside and landmarks.

The Cumberland Challenge takes place on Sunday 3rd September. This 105 mile cyclo- sportive starts in Brampton and traces a figure of eight around the North Pennines taking in the climb of Hartside before heading back to Brampton and then alongside Hadrian’s Wall and onwards for a brief incursion into Scotland before heading back to Brampton. It will be a challenging ride with 2900m of climbing.
Brampton, Castle Carrock, Armathwaite, Kirkoswald, Renwick, Hartside, Alston, Garrigill, Alston, Lambley, Hallbankgate, Brampton (feed), Lannercost, Birdoswald, Bewcastle, Kershopefoot, Nicol Forest Village Hall (feed), Easton, Smithfield, Brampton
