Pedaling to defeat Parkinson´s

These two in the picture are my fiancé Antonia and I with our tandem bike which we will use for our journey from Sheffield, UK to Los Alcázares in Murcia, Spain.

On our arrival we will get married in the Town Hall in Los Alcázares

We will depart on the 27th May 06 and we are going to try to arrive to Los Alcázares on the 18th June. The wedding will take place on the 24th June 06.

I suppose you will be wondering what the reasons were behind us deciding to go on this adventure, they are as follows:

• Collect funds for Parkinson´s Disease Society in the UK and the Spanish equivelant in Spain, (APANET) La Asociacion de Parkinson´s en Internet.
• Create awareness about Parkinson´s Disease.
• Animate those affected by Parkinson´s especially my father who has been suffering with Parkinson since 2001.
• Promote the use of bicycles and the creation of more cycle routes.
• Find out more about our countries from the seats of our bike, passing through small villages meeting their people.
• Make this trip into our Honeymoon, knowing that at the end our family and friends await.
