Exciting Times at JD Tandems - Made in the Czech Republic

Here at JD Tandems we have been working on some new projects and collaborations.
Our 3rd new addition to our already extensive range is made by Duratec in the Czech Republic. Following the demise of Bicycles by Design it made sense for Duratec to partner with us in the UK, as the Uk's leading tandem specialists.
Duratec build complete tandems, and list 8 different models on their website. Our 1st test ride model to be available is the Big Bang Gravel and this will be followed by a Rohloff equipped touring tandem. They range includes track tandems and also mountain bike machines.
Duratec manufacture non electric assist sporty tandems that have bags of curb appeal. They work only in aluminium and the frames are smooth welded giving them a very slick finish.
They have a super range of colours and different paint styles, and 9 "off the peg" different sizes, but custom sizing is available for not very much extra cost. All of their frames are made to order so custom sizing doesn't delay the process. Build times vary from 6 weeks upwards depending on how busy they are.
Prices start from around £4,750 upwards. A work around the 14% import duty is that we will be building the tandems here in our workshop in Gargrave, North Yorkshire, so the build quality will be to our exacting standards.
A frame and fork only is an option, although our test ride models will be one of Duratecs standard specification.
